In order to further optimize the layout of the expressway network in Henan province, maintain the forward-looking expressway network planning and the sustainable development of the expressway, keep the comprehensive transportation advantages, better serve the overall development of the whole country, serve the economic and social development of the Henan province, the adjusted Henan Provincial Expressway Network Planning (2016-2030) was compiled.

　　The planning period of this version was extended from 2020 to 2030, with 11 new planned routes, 1300 km of new prospect research routes and 680 km of new outlook research routes. The total planning scale of the province's highway network is about 10050 kilometers (9370 kilometers of planned route, 680 kilometers of prospect research route), and the density of the road network reaches 6 kilometers per hundred square kilometers. The expressway network with “Complete, prominent core, smoother convergence, wider coverage, more convenient travel and stronger support” will become true.
