Six people of the China-aided Malawi Capital Airport M1 Highway Upgrading Projectfeasibility investigation group arrived at Lilongwe International Airport (LLW) at noon on November 20th, and then quickly visited the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Malawi, reported the purpose and working plan to the office and received instructions from it.

In the next step, the investigation group will implement a field investigation, visit the local government, and communicate with Chinese companies and local companies. The investigation group will also report the project status, investigation plan, the list of data collection, and problems that need help from Malawi side to the officials of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works. And the investigation group will consult staff from China Road and Bridge Corporation, China Railway Seventh Group Co., Ltd., China Railway NO.5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., and China Gezhouba Group Corporation about the unit price of local labors, materials and machines, and the information about highway detection, pipelines and lines along the route, local layout habits of roads , bridges and culverts.
