At 11:30 on February 18, 2021, President Mahamadou Issoufou of the Republic of Niger and Chinese ambassador to Niger Zhang Lijun jointly cut the ribbon and unveiled the nameplate of the Third Niger Bridge (Seyni Kountché Bridge), which marks the formal completion of the main works of the Third Niger Bridge project after three years of aid.
Niger Third Bridge project is a pilot China-aided project under the management system reform of International Economic Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce. It is the largest road and bridge project in West Africa aided by Chinese government. It is the first overseas whole process consulting project undertaken by the consortium of Henan Provincial Communications Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd (HNRBI) and Henan Gaojian Project Management Co., Ltd.
The grade of this project is urban trunk road with two-way four lanes, with a total length of 3607m, of which the length of main bridge is 928m. The consortium has undertaken the survey and design, technical consultation and project management of the whole project.
The high quality completion of the main works of the third Niger bridge project is a recognition of our international consulting technical strength, which will provide strong performance support for HNRBI to better serve the national "Belt and Road" strategy and build a new overseas development pattern.
