From June 1 to June 4, the “2021 Henan Provincial Transportation Science and Technology Innovation Week”, with the theme of “Science & Technology Empowerment and Intelligent Transportation", was organized by the Henan Provincial Department of Transport.
As one of the important activities of the Science and Technology Innovation Week, the unveiling ceremony of "Henan Transportation Green Development Research Center" was held in HNRBI on June 2, 2021.
At the ceremony, Mr. Song Huadong, the deputy director of Henan Provincial Department of Transport, and Mr. Chang Xingwen, the chairman of HNRBI, delivered speeches respectively.
Mr. Song commented that HNRBI is a very experienced engineering consultant in the transportation sector of Henan province and has made great contributions to the development of Henan transportation. With the increasing demands on the ecological environment, green and low-carbon travel mode will become the trend. HNRBI's “Transportation Green Development Research Center" is the embodiment of actively shouldering the new mission of the new era, conforming to the trend of the times, which is of great significance and glorious mission. Additionally Mr. Song encouraged the research center with three expectations: the first, to seize the opportunity, make clear positioning, set the research direction from the problems and needs in the development of transportation, and truly solve the practical problems; Secondly, to be open for cooperation, collaborative innovation, to strengthen achievement exchanges and cooperation with other platforms in the industry, and learn from each other; the third, to concentrate talents cultivating and team building, integrate the research center with state's "Belt and Road" initiative and the strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development along the Yellow River. It should positively cooperate with universities and scientific research institutions in developing scientific research, talent training and transformation of achievements, to innovate the mode of talent training, and increase the strength of talents introduction.
Mr. Chang pointed out that the “Henan Transportation Green Development Research Center” was established under the background of the national ecological civilization construction and the goal of "Carbon Peak and Neutralization". The research work will mainly focus on the realization of the goals of green transportation development and "Carbon Peak and Neutralization", to win the battle of pollution prevention and control in policy, technology, equipment and other fields. The opening of the research center is major event of HNRBI. For the company, it is both an opportunity and a challenge. The company will make full efforts to support the research center, strive to build it into a benchmark in the industry, and help the high-quality development of the transportation in Henan Province.
